On Wednesday, it was announced that Volume 14, marking the conclusion of Moto'o Nakanishi's novel series 'Sword of the Demon Hunter Kijin Gentosho,' will pave the way for a highly anticipated anime adaptation set to hit television screens in 2024. This animated project was initially revealed in September 2021.

Seven Seas Entertainment will be responsible for releasing both the novels and their manga adaptation in English, providing the following synopsis:

In the Edo era, young Jinta and his sister are forced to flee their home to seek refuge in a picturesque mountain village. Years later, Jinta has become a skilled swordsman who has sworn to protect the priestess of the local shrine. When accused of vanquishing a demon threatening the sacred place, Jinta confronts the malevolent creature in the forest, only to discover a startling truth. The demon reveals events that will unfold over the next one hundred and seventy years, as Jinta must face this entity again in the future. Thus begins an epic fantasy journey spanning different eras, in which Jinta pursues a demon through time and is compelled to confront his own dark nature.

Nakanishi's novel, titled 'Suihō no Hibi' (Days of Nothing), was first published in June 2019 with illustrations by Tamaki. Seven Seas Entertainment released the third volume in English on August 17th.

In September 2021, Futabasha published the first compiled volume of the manga adaptation by Yū Satomi. The Japanese publisher continued with the release of the fifth volume of the manga on September 13th, while Seven Seas Entertainment published the third volume in English on October 3rd.
