The latest issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday confirmed on Wednesday that Kotoyama's manga 'Call of the Night' (Yofukashi no Uta) will reach its conclusion with the publication of chapter 200. If there are no setbacks, the series will conclude on January 10. The manga is entering its final arc with the release of compiled Volume 18, scheduled to be shipped this Friday.

Viz Media acquired the rights for 'Call of the Night' and released Volume 13 on September 12. The description of the work introduces Nanakusa, a vampire, which is fine for Ko, a human who also aspires to become one. However, the transformation is not as straightforward. When Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her dwelling in an abandoned building, he is excited, but he wakes up with kisses on his neck and too many bites. Is it the delicious taste of his blood that attracts her night after night for nocturnal adventures, conversations, and, of course, naps? Or is there something more at play? The plot thickens when a charming girl from Yamori's past appears and competes for Ko's attention, testing his budding relationship with the undead.

Kotoyama, known for 'Dagashi Kashi,' launched 'Call of the Night' in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday in August 2019. The work also inspired a TV anime that debuted in July 2022, streamed by HIDIVE with English subtitles. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc on September 5.

'Dagashi Kashi,' another work by Kotoyama, began in Weekly Shonen Sunday in June 2014 and concluded in April 2018. The 12-episode anime adaptation premiered in January 2016, with Funimation handling both subtitled streaming and English dubbing. The second season arrived in January 2018, with Crunchyroll and Funimation handling simultaneous streaming with Japan. Funimation released the second season on home video in October 2018.
