The official website of the anime adaptation of the light novel series "My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered" (Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyōsugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga marude Aite ni Naranain Desu ga.) by Tsuyoshi Fujitaka has unveiled the first exciting promotional video and announced new cast members.
The highly anticipated anime will make its debut in January 2024, and for fans in North America, HIDIVE will screen the anime's premiere at this year's Anime NYC event on November 17.
The anime is directed by Masakazu Hishida (known for works like "Fairy Ranmaru," "Ensemble Stars!," and "KING OF PRISM de PrettyRhythm") at the animation studio Okuru to Noboru. The series' scripts are by Jou Aoba (a pseudonym of Hishida), who also supervises the process. Sayuri Sakimoto (known for her work on "Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OAV 5/2020") is in charge of character design, and the music will be in the hands of a talented team composed of Hanae Nakamura, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Kanade Sakuma, and Daisuke Kadowaki.
The anime cast includes:
- Kouki Uchiyama as Yogiri Takatou.
- Miyu Tomita as Tomochika Dannoura.
- Tomoko Kaneda as Mokomoko Dannoura.
- Yui Horie as Sion the Wise.

Amidst the absolute chaos and slaughter during a school field trip, Yogiri Takatou awakens to discover that his entire class has been transported to another world. Strangely, he managed to sleep through the traumatic experience, resulting in the loss of the Gift, a set of abilities granted by a mysterious Sage who apparently transported everyone. Even worse, he and another classmate are ruthlessly abandoned by their friends and used as bait to distract a nearby dragon.
Although the idea of dying doesn't concern him too much, he reluctantly decides to protect his sole companion. After all, a modest level 1000 monster stands no chance against his secret power to invoke Instant Death with just a thought. If only he could stay awake long enough to use it...
Fujitaka first shared this story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2016, before Earth Star Entertainment began publishing it with illustrations by Chisato Naruse.
Additionally, Hanamaru Nanto has been serializing a manga adaptation titled "My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered —AΩ—" on the Comic Earth Star service since 2018, and J-Novel Club also offers the manga in English.
