Last Thursday, an eagerly awaited website was launched to announce the upcoming television adaptation of the anime based on the light novel series "The New Gate" by Shinogi Kazanami, scheduled for the year 2024. The website not only unveiled an exciting visual teaser but also provided crucial information about the main cast and the talented team behind the production.

The anime will be directed by Tamaki Nakatsu (Eyeshield 21: The Phantom Golden Bowl), leading the project in collaboration with Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts. Hiroki Uchida (Gamers!, The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest) takes on the responsibility of scripting the series, while Itsuki Takemoto (Animation director for Kan Colle, Naruto Shippūden) handles character design. The musical score will be composed by a talented team including Tatsuhiko Saiki, Yuya Mori, Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka.

One Peace Books has secured the rights for the manga adaptation of the novels and is responsible for its digital and physical publication. The 12th compiled book volume is scheduled for physical release on February 6. The plot of the first volume of the manga introduces "THE NEW GATE," an online game that turns into a life-or-death struggle for its players. After Shin, the most powerful player, defeats the final boss, he is engulfed in a mysterious light and transported about 500 years into the future of the game world. From a simple game gone wrong to a new and strange land, this young swordsman of unparalleled strength is about to embark on a legendary journey.

Shinogi Kazanami began publishing the original story on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" website (Let's Become Novelists) in 2013. AlphaPolis started releasing the story in physical volumes in December 2013, with illustrations by Makai no Jūnin. After removing the story from Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2016, AlphaPolis made it available on their own website. The 21st volume of the novel was published by AlphaPolis in September 2022.

Miwa launched the manga adaptation in November 2014 on the AlphaPolis manga website, and the 13th volume of the manga was published on February 28.
