Netflix has officially released a trailer of approximately two minutes that delves into the animated adaptation of 'Pluto,' the acclaimed work by Naoki Urasawa. In addition, the streaming giant has shared an official poster for the anime. The series will consist of 8 episodes and will be exclusively available on the platform starting from October 26. Each episode will have a one-hour duration, covering the entirety of the manga that reimagines the 'The World's Strongest Robot' arc of Astro Boy, created by Osamu Tezuka.

Toshio Kawaguchi, a veteran in the world of animation who has left his mark on films such as Akira, Angel's Egg, Devilman, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, will take the helm as director to bring Urasawa's pages to life, with production by Studio M2. On the other hand, Yūgo Kanno, the main composer of the soundtrack for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure parts three to six, will be in charge of the music for this miniseries. Among the talented voice actors participating, the following stand out:

Shinshu Fuji as Gesicht.
Yoko Hikasa as Atom.
Minori Suzuki as Uran.
Hiroki Yasumoto as Montblanc.
Koichi Yamadera as North 2.
Hidenobu Kiuchi as Brando.
Rikiya Koyama as Heracles.
Mamoru Miyano as Epsilon.
Toshihiko Seki as Pluto.

The 'Pluto' manga was published in Spain by Planeta Cómic from May 2009 to July 2010, and later re-released in a new edition from January 2017 to October 2022, comprising a total of 8 collected volumes.

In this brilliant masterpiece, Urasawa weaves together plots and characters from another manga giant, none other than Osamu Tezuka and his creation, Astro Boy. Urasawa rescues characters from that work to craft a fascinating narrative about emotions, relationships, and thoughts... of robots. It explores how they interact with humans, what drives them, and ultimately what makes them more human than we are ourselves.
