In an exciting announcement made during the "Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai Online 2023" live streaming event, Kadokawa revealed that the anime adaptation of the light novel series "Demon Lord 2099" (also known as "Maou 2099"), created by author Daigo Murasaki and illustrator Kureta, will hit screens in the year 2024.
This anime features the standout performance of Satoshi Hino as Demon Lord Veltol and Miku Itō as Machina. The animation production is in the capable hands of the prestigious J.C. Staff studio.
The intriguing story of this series is published in English by Yen Press and unfolds in a dystopian future. In the year 2099 of the Fused Era, within the bustling metropolis of Shinjuku, which conceals a sinister secret beneath its dazzling prosperity, the legendary Demon Lord Veltol makes his highly anticipated return. To rule this seemingly happy yet enigmatic new world, he must seize control of the future.
In June, Kadokawa released the third volume of the novel, while Yen Press published the second volume in English during the same month. Furthermore, Kiiro Akashiro is working on a manga adaptation of these captivating novels, which is available on the Shōnen Ace+ website from Kadokawa.
