The latest issue of this year's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from Shueisha announced on Monday that Kōji Miura's work, "Blue Box" (Ao no Hako), will make its way to the screen with an animated television adaptation. The series will feature the prominent performances of Shōya Chiba as Taiki Inomata and Reina Ueda portraying Chinatsu Kano. Additionally, the main cast is scheduled to participate in an on-stage event during Jump Festa '24 on December 16.

The manga, available in English through Shueisha's MANGA Plus service, tells the story of Taiki Inomata, a member of the powerhouse Eimei Junior and Senior High badminton team. In love with Chinatsu Kano, a basketball player with whom he trains every morning in the gym, their relationship takes an unexpected turn on a spring day, marking the beginning of a new series that blends romance, sports, and youth.

Kōji Miura initially introduced the plot as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020, and the official serialization began in April 2021. The 13th compiled volume of the manga is set for release on December 4 by Shueisha. Viz Media, on the other hand, physically released the seventh volume on November 7 and plans to publish the eighth volume on January 2.
