Kadokawa announced on Sunday that the animated television adaptation of Kagiri Araido's manga "Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru" (Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again) is set to premiere in April 2024. Along with this revelation, Kadokawa shared the key visual of the show and unveiled the main cast, reprising their roles from previous comic voice adaptations.

The plot of this comedy revolves around an elderly couple enjoying a quiet life in Aomori, dedicated to apple harvesting. However, one day, they wake up surprised to discover that their physical age has regressed to 20 years old.

Araido began serializing the manga on pixiv in October 2019, accumulating over 100 million views since then. In 2020, the manga ranked sixth in the Web Manga category during the sixth edition of the "Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō" awards. Kadokawa released the seventh volume of the manga on August 16, and the series is expected to conclude with its eighth volume. With over a million copies in circulation, including digital purchases, the series has made a significant impact on the audience.
