The official Twitter account of the TV anime "Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyū wa, Jikka Kara Tsuihōsareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita" (The Exiled Former Hero Lives as He Pleases) by Shin Kouduki has revealed the anime's music composer and its 2024 release date. Kei Haneoka (known for his work on "Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life," "Owarimonogatari," and "Kaguya-sama: Love is War") is in charge of the musical composition.

Shōta Aoi lends his voice to the protagonist, Allen.

Kazuomi Koga, known for his work on "TenPuru," is directing the anime at DEEN and Marvy Jack studios. Rintarou Ikeda is responsible for the series' scripts, having previously worked on projects like "Insomniacs After School" and "The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of The Gods." Yoshiki Ōkusa, the author of "Hakyū Hōshin Engi" and "Farewell, My Dear Cramer," is handling the screenplay. Saori Hosoda, renowned for her work on "Phantom of the Idol," is in charge of character design.

Kouduki began the light novel series in January 2018 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) website. The first volume of the light novel series, with illustrations by Chocoan, was published by TO Books in October 2018. The sixth volume was released on November 1.

The plot of the light novels is set in a world where powerful "blessings and gifts from the gods" are granted to those who come of age, and these "gifts" determine the course of their lives. However, Allen is an exception, as he receives no power, leading to ridicule and exile from his home. Determined to live a peaceful life in remote lands, what people are unaware of is that Allen holds memories (and powers) from his past life as a hero.

Karasumaru adapted the series into a manga version on the Nico Nico Seiga website in 2019. The eighth compiled volume of the manga was released on November 1.
