Kadokawa unveiled two new cast members, the main visual, the core team, and the first teaser video for the television anime adaptation of the manga "Mysterious Disappearances" (Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi, which literally translates to "Mysteries, Maidens, and Mysterious Disappearances") by Nujima, on Wednesday.
The protagonists of the anime are:
- Fairouz Ai as Sumireko Ogawa.
- Daiki Yamashita as Ren Adashino.
The animated series is scheduled for release in 2024.
Tomomi Mochizuki (known for his work on "Battery the Animation," "House of Five Leaves," and "Twin Spica") serves as the director of the anime at Zero-G and also takes on the role of series composition. Takuya Tani (known for his contributions to "Muv-Luv Alternative" and "Kōkaku no Pandora") is in charge of character design.

This unique contemporary romantic story follows the life of Sumireko Ogawa, an aspiring writer passionate about mysteries, who works at a bookstore alongside Ren Adashino, a young man. Together, they become entangled in mysterious situations and strive to solve enigmas.
Nujima's manga debuted on Shogakukan's Yawaraka Spirits manga website in October 2019, and Shogakukan published the sixth compiled volume of the series on July 12.
